I am tired of this cold weather too

so here is some little perks I had these last few days

drove up to visit my folks on Tuesday and Mom and I went for a walk

around the complex and when we came back to their suite we came back to this. 

 Men and their recliners!

I love this bright sun and blue sky

so went out for a walk to the pasture

where our horses were gathered.

Here are some photos that show just a tiny bit of our weekend with women and fashion and dancing and healing our guilt and for me it was about talking about gray hair styling.

I could use a bit more product in my hair to edge my style!

and her clothes are soft and muted colors and soft texture

It was so fun and easy to travel with her!

we enjoyed our stay at the The Hilton Hotel and used the pool and outside

decks and we also walked around the downtown area and got to see

all the Comic Convention costumes that were walking down the street all the time

we were there.  I should of taken a pic of the Mad Hatter family walking down the street - very awesome costumes.

There will not be one next year to attend so hopefully in a couple of years she (Carol Tuttle) will put on another weekend retreat.  

Grace

I renamed my horse. She is now named ‘Grace’; she has always been so gracious with me and never a ‘buck’ in her.  A pleasant temperament, always ready to move forward with her ear cocked ready for my cues!

I sat down with a young stylist today and

she said "so what's going on?  what are we doing?

got some ideas or pictures?

(well that was the right approach)

I want it short and textured and almost shaved

at the back of my head.

I am  letting the colour fade out and 

leave it grey/gray (sp). 

It is a very freeing cut, it is really who I am  too plus it keeps me

thinking youthful!

fall switch-ups

I had fun changing my cowgirl boots from all black

to this!

Brian and I bought a horse.  Well we bought out the other

co-owner's share.  We spent all spring and summer attempting

to sell this buckskin called Brushetta; but I knew deep down she needed to be my horse (well 

Brian's horse too.)  So we done did it! and now can take her out and feel

comfortable with a good solid and mild tempered riding horse.

 As a 10 year old she is young enough to enjoy

rides with her for a good many years

Horses are not always what you hope for

so we have sold one colt to a trainer outside Melville

This young one, (Tuko),  showed he liked to buck for no reason... really?

He has had lots of rides on him and trained thoroughly

by both my husband and his partner.

He is at a good home now though as this trainer was

looking for a project horse. (perfecto!)

I bought some clothes in Utah at my Dressing Your Truth

weekend retreat and I am attempting to get an outfit

together.  I bought this long forest green open sweater.

(so comfy)

it's just my hair

hair is so

important to women

Some of you may think it is

no big deal

I guess I am getting pickier and want

a certain look now that I have

figured "me" out (finally)

hiring hairdressers

firing hairdressers (never coming back)

would never confront one myself

so it goes on and

picking someone out of the blue

like I did today (once again) because that is what

I usually do and have always done

I get bored with the sameness of the cut

or the colour was wrong

You gals know (right)?

I am talking shoes here as 

it is a good day to go through

my foot wear for the new seasons upon us, because,

it is a cold and windy day for May 17th

and I am inside cleaning out closets.

I have worn them out but they still are comfy!

I admit I am a shoe person

and I like high quality shoes
It is a necessity to have shoes and several
kinds to protect our feet in all kinds of
weather and activity so I of course have several
pair..  Some of you will have more than me or less
than me.  (is that sentence grammatically correct?)

The point is
I want my feet to look good
and I want it to compliment
my outfits too.

Shoes is one of my more abundant uses

of my money and if I purchase well

then the value is there for a good serviceable

time.

I have fitness shoes for my workouts

and I do alot of walking too

Merrells are the blue at the farthest end

then the grey and pink are Skechers

and my sandal runners are Keen

this display here is a project to see

what shoes I am not going to wear this summer

and the verdict is that I will wear all of them !!

(why I have 2 pair?  just because I liked the leopard

I am very GRATEFUL that I can own this many pairs of

I think it looks morbid. They do

 throw in some delightful

scarves and it helps.

oh well

off I go to this afternoon's Spring

 Makes sense too because we are not competing as

to who looks the nicest.  I still tend to feel a bit "dark" when 

performing bright cheery music.

My nature is rich dynamic swift moving multi-tasking

person.  So the framed colour chart on the bottom

left on this wall are my colours/shades/tones to wear as

these colours match my true nature of movement.

what a great idea for someone to get all 4 and

put them on their wall. 

I am not saying much more

as you have to be a dressing your truth

some days I do not recognize my gifts of being and I do enough!

so here is my thing....

 drink coffee in a.m.
writing 3 pages in morning pages
read a daily scripture or write my own prayer
make Shakeo and drink it also include

w/2 glasses water
dress to sweat and hit play
2 more glasses of water
eat breakfast and plan meals
sit on deck as much as possible
make bed sometime in morning
post on my blog/FB
sometimes shop for groceries
better yet read when I can
which is quite a bit
write an article if inspired by moment(s)
talk to horses

I enjoy an hour or two of lazin' too

the fire starts inside
when a day goes by and I never stop to wonder
 am I bored? or I feel complete?
I write what I did that day
it starts in the morning just like I said
and the day builds from there 
but it has to start with writing, drinking,
sweating and planning!

 Did I mention I love purple?

hair care heart care

I get my haircut in Regina for the simple reason that I attempted to find a

new stylist here in Yorkton.  This did not happen. I went through 4 of them so 

for a 2 hour drive once a month to see my favourite Regina stylist is fun and rewarding;  and then I pop in to visit family and hit some good coffee shops with my siblings and head to Winners (sweet)
a nice  break.

so this month we were surprised when my mom

fainted in church last Sunday and has been in the

Cardiac Surveillance Unit at the Regina General since

with 

all the

tests  completed;  she finally received an Angiogram Friday
afternoon and then the cardiologist came upon a blocked artery before they even got to look at
her heart and valves.  They did stent surgery on that artery and that was that.
This will hopefully help with her fatigue and anxiousness these past
2 years.  She is well and appreciated her rest in hospital bed while waiting for all
cardiac tests to be completed.

Mom is home now and tired but happy.  I am thinking that
she will have her energy return in a few days.  Our family is encouraging
them to put their name in at the Wintergreen seniors complex in Regina.

My dad walked to the hospital every day as they live a few blocks away.  He got in shape a bit
after several trips.  They are both turning 86 at the end of summer.  Moving is an adjustment however I believe that there will be more relaxation and fun and daily services available in this complex.

Parenting your parents to ease into another phase of life.  It will work out!

I really had my "groove" on this day.  This trail ride I rode in was last fall.

 I finally had this 7 year old moving nicely half way through the ride and even

in a large circle at a trot.

on me but fashion ends when on your steed; you just forget about

how you look and enjoy the ride!

I am a woman whose natural beauty is swift movements

and confidence in fast decisions and

I do not spend time on details.....

I am  now wearing gold and geometric designed necklaces

and earrings and even bracelets.

round circles patterns, round pointed shoes, and round

earrings are not my nature.

not surprisingly I paint with a fast process of quick intense strokes

and to prolong a drawing of a vase or apple or chair or any detailing

is painful.  It seems I am the first one to be finished my painting long before others.
the detailing and finesse of art is too slow
so I make my own splash on the canvas
and
 I love rich deep colors on my palette.

and my mom is a type 3 just like I am

even though it has been a change of perception I can

see it is very true about me and dressing this way is 

really living my truth by dressing my truth.
