thankful the weather is warm, because i have to feed our neighbours dogs twice a day for the next 3 days and they live at least 2 miles away

goodness it is Friday and I am on my 2nd day of work this week - that is good!

its still January but the last half of January is better than the first for me!

Friday, Friday....my hubby comes home tonite and supper is planned, salmon, lettuce salad and baked potatoe

TGIF to all you office workers who get the weekends off!

TGIF and "bimpless"

trusting
my foot will heal quickly but only if I rest it alot and keep it elevated.
grateful
for wonderful fun and joyful nursing staff who love their jobs.  Oh my...! I had great nurses on the day surgery ward at MH hospital.
inspired
by women who are not afraid to speak openly.  One nurse told me that her favourite surgeon was the one I had to do my foot excisement.  Dr. Michael Bering.  She winked at me and said I am not supposed to say this but Dr. Bering is my favourite.  He saved my right leg 12 years ago and I am walking quite well today because of his excellent work.  Well that made me feel good.  A couple of nurses were teasing Mantracker terribly about how he should be going to a jewelery store or flower shop while he was waiting for me. Mantracker said he was going to pick up a pair of wranglers for me.  They looked at him and said "if you come up with a pair of wranglers for your wife.. we will not let you back in".  "We will confiscate the bag"!....  anyway all in good fun and Mantracker came back with a nice pair of blue jean capris with a blue and white striped belt around it.  It was a very tasteful choice and they fit me perfectly.  (story: i had spilled a bottle of lysol disinfectant on my black capris in the car yesterday and it literally burned holes in them).
Friday
I am home with my foot up and doing well. I had my "bimp" removed yesterday and all is well.  The only problem I had was after my general anesthesia I got very nauseous and woozy.  I was literally "bringing it all forward" into a hospital "ralph" pan for 2 hours after.  The nurses gave me a barf bag and a shot of gravol in the butt and wheelchaired me to the car because it was 7 p.m. and day surgery was closing.  Mantracker thought the ride home was going well until I proceeded to use "the bag"! oh my!  after that one session which happened just outside of MH I henceforth crashed and slept all the way.  The gravol must of finally kicked in.

The good news is my surgeon stated just before the little operation that he strongly believes it is a ganglion.
So I looked up on google about ganglion's on the foot.  It just totally fits what I have had going on under my foot for a few years.  Glad it is removed.  Hope it never comes back!

speak to me beautiful crocus!

(taken around Fort Qu'Appelle on April 15, 2010 just click photo for photographer credit)

If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers--most of which are never even seen-don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you?
What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving.
(Matthew 6:30-31 The Message)

Have a great Friday!

tgif and some Yahoo news!

yahoo I am trusting that our sponsored 11 year old boy will keep corresponding with us. We have had 2 letters and 2 pictures from him. He writes his letters in Romanian and then it is retyped in English for us. This hole in my heart is completely filled when I hear from George.

Grateful for Tom passing his difficult classses this last semester and grateful for him receiving a job in his field of study this summer. Another yahoo!

Thankful that Mantracker has decided to retire in June and he has already received another job that he can start in October. He will be busy training colts and building our deck and just soaking up the summer off before then!

I am also thankful that this summer I can pursue the joy of some Kayaking at Duncairn Dam. I found out about this last fall. They have rentals of kayaks their and I want to check that out.

I am also so very thankful for my chiropractor who has turned my neck problems into a new painfree lifestyle. I finally found something that works. Another yahoo!

Yahoo! it's Friday!

the one word for this year and TGIF

I felt isolated and snowed in on Tuesday nite.  You couldn't even look me in the face and ask me for a long conversation.  It was docile one word answers.  Poor Mantracker didn't know what to think.  I chalked it up to the wind, and isolation out here; and to make it more dramatic Mantracker comes into the house while I am making supper and says I think "God" is trying to tell me something?  {oh great the snowblower died}.  The highway had snow drifts and our lane was getting full. I start to panic and thought "I will never make it through the next 3 months".  I journalled quickly, not on my blog but in my own private hand written "tell-all" journal book.  Man does that work well.  Journal when you are depressed and mad and your emotions are all pent up.  I started my little journal entry with "I hate" this and "I hate that" and after a couple of paragraphs I got down to the point of my melancholy.

The next day was my day off and I had plans.  Haircut, massage, Healing Touch nite.  I did do all those things but I also booked a flight to this remote little island at Hawaii.  The island is named "Kauai" (Kawaii). Brian's brother Trev has a timeshare there in Feb and he graciously invited us to join him as well as some of Carol's family and so with weeks of pondering on this I finally  just went and booked the flight for Mantracker and I.  I am the worst flier though.  I need gravol/Adavan/wrist band to be able to fly anywhere, as well even to go swing on a swing in the park, or drive down a windy road and sit in a backseat of a vehicle.   So this really picked me up and it gives me something to look forward to.  The flight is 7 - 10 hrs one way but I will be ready for that and will try real hard to enjoy flying.

2010 needs a "word" and I am trying to think of a word to describe what I need this year. I think the word is "develop".  Build, and try,and seek little adventures that I need to sprout with joy from.

It is or will be Friday soon and the weather is getting warmer.  So TGIF is mixed in with
trusting my plans to build on things I want to try
grateful that I have family that is willing to let me fly
inspired by anyone who travels freely and enjoys the process

Have a good one!
p.s. Tom has some new blog posts for you to check out on 'experimenting' and vegetarian dining if you want to take a look-see.

grateful it's Friday

my last day of work today! I have next week off and  I plan on baking a batch of ginger snaps and packing them up with a bottle of Sherry and head to Qu'Apelle on Sunday.  It is time to load up the steeds and jolly we go for some fun.

trusting the weather will cooperate as we travel and pull our horses for 3 hours
grateful Tom came home safe as he wrote 2 exams and then drove all night to get home
inspired always by Christmas lights and how they make me feel

forging ahead friday

Trusting today that my fearless plans will keep bringing satisfaction and love for my family and friends

Grateful for being able to see in the distance and know all things that happen are turned around and given a better purpose than before

Inspired by the white snow and clean crisp air.  It reminds me that some things are frozen in time and brought out later when it is ready

my peaceful man-TGIF

Brian left for the city 2 weeks ago
ready to spend 5 days with people he didn't know
people longing for a "choice"
and my man returned and he felt rejoice
and said "I am a peaceful man"
that is his contract, that is his plan
ridding himself of past baggage and poor memories
understanding their is something bigger than he who can set him free
Oh how I love my new "peaceful" man

Trusting that Tom will have a safe trip coming home this weekend.
Grateful for the family I have now.
Inspired by the blessings of a strong family and compassionate friends and coworkers.

Oh blessed Friday!!!

busy TGIF

Friday it is!

trusting this weekend will get our house renos almost done. Friends coming over to slap on the siding.

grateful for my books I am reading and my camera. My little kodak keeps clicking pretty good pictures.

inspired by my Mom and Dad who turn 80 today and are still living out at their cabin at the lake. We are celebrating their birthdays' tonite at the Hotel Saskatchewan in Regina.
I want to be here at a place like this when I retire. It will happen. See that horse on the top of the hill. She stood there for the longest time. I knew it was a mare because a little colt came up beside after awhile.

you all have a great weekend now.....

Style and Inspiration-TGIF

Trusting that my patience and prioritizing and communication skills can handle the office pressures and constant training that is required in my department at work in the next few months.

A little Diana Krall piped through my desktop would help {wouldn’t that be nice}
sometimes I am a huge fan of her music…. But mainly I am a fan of “who she is” that I love. I have listened to people interview her and I like the person…so of course I like the sad slow moody jazz beat and her classy low key appearance

Grateful for my power walks that I am doing and am able to keep doing due to our summer and soon fall season coming up, and the energy and calm focus it provides. I look rather funny when I am power walking…arms swinging, feet marching fast almost at a run but not quite..very effective for me and I only have to go for a 15 or 20 minute walk to get same benefits as a longer walk

Inspired by a book I ordered and when i read thru the first couple of sections I already know this book is going to do something for me. I am always rearranging or setting an ornament or inspired phrase somewhere on or above my desk. It is because I have to work in an environment that assists me in a way with my "style"...it is so important. Some of us go to serious lengths to have our environment inspire them, especially at home and at work. We need that.... Style Statement-Live by Your Own Design

TGIF tribute and accomplishment

IT'S FRIDAY and..I am TRUSTING the weather to provide what we need today...sunshine and rain. I want both!

Here is a tribute to my father-in-law Grampa Kirk.
Sir Wilford Hiram Kirk
February 18, 1918 - July 29, 2009 - aged 91 years.

{here he is playing cards at Christmas time 2008}

I am GRATEFUL to have been your daughter-in-law and thanking you for showing me how to "soldier" on in life.

I am INSPIRED by Tom's determination. He achieved this climb on the 2nd highest wall in Western Canada a couple of weeks ago. This climbing wall is in Regina at the Science Centre. Another goal has been accomplished.

tgif July 24

Grateful for Lisa and Dave for opening up their house to us day or night as my father-in-law is ailing poorly in the Regina Pasqua Hospital.

picnic on their deck..it was lovely

inspired by the potted plant my sister Barb potted and grew for me - snap dragons I like it!

never too late for TGIF

I am trusting my horse as tonight I am warming up Rocky for tommorrow's trail ride at the Sask. Landing. It will be hot and here is to hoping most of the gates will be open so we don't have to get off the horse to open and close too many times. The cowboys usually do that while the cowgirls watch {it's a good deal}

I am grateful for the rain we got in the last while as everything is so green...Yahoo.

I am inspired by and in awe of the wild prairie roses that keep popping up this year on our acreage.

Have a great Friday evening!

tgif

I am trusting Lawrence {our friend and guest speaker at the grad this morning} to have an impact with his words to at least one grad...words if presented well can be powerful. Thank you Lawrence for caring so much.

I am grateful for Tom and his new car that he got this spring. He is grateful too! Independence at last and responsibility that he is handling well.

I am inspired by Tom's grade 12 grad motto in 2007 {this was his own)..."why fly like a sparrow when I can soar like an eagle". As you can see from his plate on this car that he still lives by that. Love you Tom.

TGIF

just a picture today ...but it says it all for me

update June 20:
I am trusting my husband to work through his stress and to use his healing time to work on his priorities.

I am so grateful that I married an energetic and strong minded man, I am so grateful that he finally is recognizing his boundaries and is letting the important people in his life see them.

I am very inspired by my husband who has had to get on his knees 2 days ago and say I can't do this anymore and he asked for help. The stressful job expectations and his never saying "no" has left him emotionally raw. Halleluiah to you! Your life dear husband is going to be changed forever . I will support you in your journey!

tgif ...all about friends

I plan my TGIF's all week and then Thursday nite I can hardly wait to publish the blog post....

I am trusting my friends today..they inspire me with their thoughts, their drive and my connectedness with them all. Yes my "outside Swift Current" dear friends

Grateful for Wendy's love of the horse and her "Martha Stewart" hospitality.. This is her colt "Fancy". I can ride and talk horses with her and her honesty and driven healthy goals in her life are inspiring!

Grateful for Sandy, my old highschool companion and neighbourhood friend from elementary school...someone I can share adversity with...she is a girl that for me "life makes sense"

Grateful for Ilona and all the laughs, sarcasim and upbeat moments we have always had and always will have. Ilona was a great listener and persistent communicator after I lost Graham...

Grateful for Shirley who is a friend tried and true and has a heart of "gold". {another Martha Stewart friend...which I love, because I am NOT!)

What and Who is inspiring me today?
MY FRIENDS, and I am missing one friend on my list today, Laurie {my dear Swift Current friend}...her "no nonsense" straightforward attitude towards her life and her very unique sense of humour help me put things in a realistic perspective. {I can't believe I do not even have a photo of her to post}

You all inspire me today.

inspiration Friday

only inspiration today...but oh this is so inspiring....I have.. for years... always wanted to write a book, but scared of showing my "cracks" and "flaws"...you know what I mean...so..

Don’t write,
It’s too powerful,
It might tell someone how
you feel. How you hurt.
What you don’t understand.

Don’t write.
It’s too powerful.
It will show who you are
on the inside to the outside.
It’ll blow your cover,
your nice reputation.

Don’t write.
It’s too powerful.
You might hurt someone’s
feelings. People may not like your
words. They may attack you, or
abandon you.

Don’t write,
It’s too powerful.
It might give others hope.
Let them know
They’re not alone.
It might change minds.
Change directions.
Change the world.

So, whatever you do.

don’t
write

Who and what am I trusting today….I am trusting my husband Brian today as he has been so helpful with painting our bedroom. Even though the colour is “pinky” he says “If you are happy Donna, then I am happy” Wow!.... {actually he opened the paint can and didn’t say anything for a minute-then we both decided we would paint the main wall in "new england brown' - darkest colour at the end of the pallette and the rest of the walls are the lightest colour "strawberry yogurt" at the other end of the pallette}

Who and What am I grateful for today…I am grateful that my stiff muscles and joints are non-existent these last few days and grateful that I have experience and connections with energy medicine professionals and my "Healing Touch" training.

Who and What is inspiring me today….renovating and painting and working with my hubby who inspires me with his high energy and helpful personality. I love it! I will reveal the new bedroom photos soon...

Sunflowers are extroverted

I enjoyed my wild flowers this year.  The sunflower is the most expressive! glorious extroverted bold I have been picked for the house! alm...
