how do I get 8000 steps at age 60

I learned to use a fitness tracker
last year and find that it keeps me accountable
and on track with regular activity.

This is the bellabeat clip on tracker I use
8000 steps per day is attainable for me and
beneficial to my heart, blood pressure, blood sugar levels

in winter I walk at our walking track in the city

trotting a horse is amazing workout
for rider and horse

get to the lakes and swim as much
as I can

 beachbody DVD fitness dance fun
I can get 4000 steps by doing a dance fitness DVD in
30 minutes

canoeing is great but hard on my shoulders
so only a couple times a year on this activity

ride my horse in the yard

just walk outside

love love love hiking around the lakes in
the fall

hiking in winter with white snow and
sunshine

pretty trails with nature is so relaxing

I don't mind the treadmill a few times a year (but this is
my last resort in extreme cold weather if I need the steps)

I am retired and can really get the fitness in
but it is still a mind set to do it. The benefits
are incredible to my health!

shoulder and dance

my right shoulder is recovering
and I have started to workout again
this program called CIZE is dance fitness
for all kinds of fitness levels,  It is hard to get all
the moves and steps into proper sequence with the music
however  (Shaun T) does a good job of moving you along!

I am not doing the arm movements above my
head presently so am enjoying my improvisation of just the steps
which are cool even with just low arm movements!

This instructor is an uplifting individual and
his personality kicks my butt.

the best workout for me is:
The Next Level:  Work Your Body

making it work with what motivates!

watch my favourite routine below
and imagine me doing this with minimal arm
movements (ha ha what a visual!)

Not A BeachBody Just A Dance Student

I began the beachbody fitness programs in June this year.
I did the 21 day fix, yes for 21 days I worked out
from my DVD on my TV for 30 minutes each day.
My Yoga teacher is a beachbody coach and I asked her
one question.  Is this too much for a woman my age?

I was concerned I was too senior to be
working out with weights, pushups and the
cardio.  I was motivated to make my life
more fun and energized and I was willing to
work hard for it.  She recommended the 21 day fix.

So did that and now for the last 2 months I have been
dancing.  I love it!
here is a sample video.

There are so many other fitness challenges and DVD's to purchase and workout with but I chose
this one.

Just to share that if you want to check out the beachbody team and be part of a fitness community.
here is the link and their is a 30 day free membership and also if you join and do not like the programs or Shakeology powder drink there is a 30 day refund.

www.teambeachbody.com/CA

it is all about support, working hard with professional trainers and knowing your beachbody nutritionists are number 1 in their Shakeology powder that complements your energy and health while working out.

It is such an uplift of mood and confidence.

slow firestarter today

yes
I am joyful
I am so much fitter
than I was 3 months ago
it all looks good
from my pics below?

let's be real
and talk about when you are still
fit and joyful
but doggin' the odd day
and your mind says
"whoa"

that's me
today
don't wanna' day
stay home
read, meditate
pet a horse
share here
that my left neck and shoulder
is annoying me
though not really painful
just a bit bite-y

even when I 'dog- it' like today I find
I am doing a work -out at 3 pm this afternoon
because it's habit and my body and mind say
we are missing something - get it?

keep it going
keep it real, stay low and know it
sucks when the mood hits you like that
get your fire starter sessions going

fitter is better

I started the 21 day fix with beachbody.com
end of May this year
I am busy doing my 30 minute workouts every day since
and I did not realize the fitness level I am at now

I rode Rocky this afternoon
it was hot and bugs weren't too bad
when I stepped into the stirrup to swing up
and over I couldn't believe how simple that
was.  No left sciatic to numb my foot and
more strength and speed in getting
on
BONUS
this is why I work out!
one of the reasons that is for sure!

this horse is a good ole boy but he is pretty soft, not in riding shape for a 20 year old
horse and I need to get him out more.

so this afternoon was hotter than I thought
and Rocky was really sweating after 1/2 hour and I only
trotted him around the arena for 20 minutes
I had to get off him to longe him a little bit more
as the team work was not there between him and I, yet.

anyhow when I did that
he was lathered up around the breast collar
and his neck was wet

It was time to quit
maybe go again tonite?

I was overheated too once
I got into the tack room
to put away his bridle/reins
I needed a sit down on the deck!
(face flushed/feeling weak)

I am getting back in the game in the fall here when weather is cooler and
horse flies stop biting, then it's good horse riding!  In the meantime short rides
in our yard will be perfect this month.

fire session

some days I do not recognize my gifts of being and I do enough!

so here is my thing....

 drink coffee in a.m.
writing 3 pages in morning pages
read a daily scripture or write my own prayer
make Shakeo and drink it also include
w/2 glasses water
dress to sweat and hit play
2 more glasses of water
eat breakfast and plan meals
sit on deck as much as possible
make bed sometime in morning
post on my blog/FB
sometimes shop for groceries
better yet read when I can
which is quite a bit
write an article if inspired by moment(s)
talk to horses

I enjoy an hour or two of lazin' too

the fire starts inside
when a day goes by and I never stop to wonder
am I bored? or I feel complete?
I write what I did that day
it starts in the morning just like I said
and the day builds from there
but it has to start with writing, drinking,
sweating and planning!

Did I mention I love purple?
