Poverpol magic

i spent an afternoon with my friend

learning how to sculpt with this unique glue called Paverpol.

This is a textile/fabric glue that is initiated and can only

be purchased from Holland, of course there are distributors in Canada that can provide it too.
 I believe Amazon has a bit of it.

My friend took this class in Saskatoon

and wanted to show me how to make it.

here is the armature wire to sculpt and make the form 

We used

a styrofoam block for a stand, a block of wood, and then

to apply the shape with foil and secure with masking tape we used

the copper wire to shape shoulders and a shape to insert styrofoam

egg in for the head

The glue was a bronze/brown colour. 

Built the body with foil and shaped it with masking tape to hold the shape.

I cut strips of 100% cotton into squares or angled strips

and just dipped each cloth strip in the paverpol glue and work it

with your hands to cover completely. Applied each strip to wood armature

and let it fold and hang to your liking and then keep adding

more glue covered strips until it is to your sculpting satisfaction.

 A pin for the nose and that completed her face.

it hardens like a block of wood and it weathers' the outside for

decks or gardens, depending on what you make.  It lasts and weathers

wherever you place it.

and here we are!

My hubby was amazed and gave this craft a name

of Marguerite!

My friend has created 2 sculptures and is considering

instructing classes in the future.

I thank her for sharing this afternoon with me so I can

be super crafty!

My Web

so many things interacting in my life

mostly good things

a little bit of darkness and bad energy though

the web I drew here is

inspired by the spider webs hanging in-between

the corners of our horse fences

sometimes I think I just stick to things and hang out

and catch whatever comes

sometimes I smudge things up

and other times things are precise and clear

so that is how I colored my web!

local painters

I am a local artist and I do not have any showings of my work

and I say this because I draw and write or paint almost everyday.

most of my work is not on canvas and if it is it is just 8 x 10 canvas and I

usually paint over it after a week and make something entirely new.

The Godrey Dean Art Gallery in Yorkton has a super showing right now

and while I was helping out there last Thursday I took snaps of

the paintings that popped out at me.

 this painting above is called "Trusting The Universe".  It is just black

paint and under the black is alot of texture and grooves then below is 

the band of white.  Very simple very striking and I liked the title of the painting.

this painting is dedicated to all the miners who have worked

in the Sask mines and died.  The circles are painted using actual potash.  It is called St Barbara's Egress/Not Forgotten (see below)

So inspiring and finally adult art classes are coming up for me

to attend and learn more...!

relief soon

dry hacking cough started Friday and has continued

up to today,

dry cough relief syrup every 6 hours is helping

I cough from the bottom of my gut

the days are long sitting around

our holiday starts on Saturday

we fly out to Fort Worth TX at 8 in the morning

I am going to be much improved in 4 days (fingers crossed)

packing ahead of time is a first for me
and it is much easier to put it together
at the end, as long as I don't change my mind
on Friday.   No that won't happen what I have
out is what is going in the suitcase!

That week I worked in the floral shop must have been
the little bug that grabbed me being around lots of
people and working in the back room where the temperature
was cooler

I have a new art room desk, it is a drafting or architect's desk; it can be elevated
at different angles if I wanted.  I like it just as a desk.

Walking Writing

I am sitting on a bleacher at the Flexihall at our Gallagher centre here in Yorkton  I did my 30 - 35 minutes and now I am going to write about the walking track and running track.  It is great for me to be able to do this a few times a week.  I do go on my treadmill and it is an effort to get on that dam thing  I have the radio playing while on it and it helps to have music.  I don't like ear buds or earphones in my ears though.  I find the large walking track with the tan and white colored track lines with 4 lanes to walk on is a better way to get fit.  I like the people around me.  The track has been centered around a soccer indoor gym in the middle   Enclosed with floor to ceiling nets.  The facility is for all individuals to use most hours of the day for only 2$. 

 What else can I say about a walking track.  It is called the Nexera Flexihall

(the name Nexera comes from the canola growers around this area or something like that ha!).

  I am trying to write for half an hour.  the clock on the wall reads 12:59 pm  Can I write for at least 15 minutes.  I need a sip of water I will take a picture of my bottled water and bleacher seat after I am done.  I am feeling warm and my face is flushed and most likely it is red.  I always get so red after I exercise.  My heart and liver for years has never been healthy.  My rheumatic fever at 12 years old was a bit of a scare and I was restricted from some gym stuff in Phys Ed I remember quite well.  Rheumatic Fever they say.  I did not know that the strep throat and heart murmur were in conjunction with each other.

  Only 4 people walking on the track now and a couple of classy ladies with silver blond hair are making their walking rounds  They are close to my age is my guess.  They are nice looking young seniors and probably just came back from a hot holiday as one is very tanned but not a tanning bed tan appears to be a sun tan from the sun.  I hope to get some colour on my face in Texas.  Curious as to how the age is hard to detect when the hair is blond  why do blondes look younger?  I think her makeup, when I look quickly her way again, is quite well covered in cosmetics. 

 I am so allowed to nurture my artist (I am supposed to make sure I put in a phrase to honor my writing).   I am also allowed to nourish my muscles.  My shoulder is very good,   I will eventually get it perfect almost.  Even though I don't think at first that the shoulder rolls were helpful they have been very helpful and if I have a set back it seems the shoulder rolls work it through for me.  The rolls were hard to do.

I'm hungry!.. time to have something to eat so I will close now.

colour

i am an eclectic decorator and my art is very diverse too

this cut glass is the most beautiful I have seen.  It is arranged randomly with

colours that I love best.  The deep rich dynamic colors of gold brown orange salmon-pink purple

colour makes me feel understood and grounded and happy!

Doodle arting

my doodle -10 minute art drawing from yesterday

brightened it up today

doodled this shape (below) today so shall make something more of it

tommorrow (must think about it overnight)  

patience pays off as I have time to think about this instantaenous scribble!  This is a fun e-course!

I will be an artist at 60

I struggle to make simple art

I want it to be fun and bright

I think that if I make a few strokes that

it will be simplistic looking

...wrong... the detail and strength of colour is

needed and patience....

So I am following this

lady on an e-course called "How to be an Artist at 60"

here is a sample of her art and I truly love this kind of

face painting.  So fun and colorful.  I think this is pastels, which are soft

and smudgy and more forgiving.  I call her art Naive Art. (child-like, fun, bright colors)

just doodled this today and I followed her first 2 days of e-course art this was

so spontaneous and I admit I wanted to do a face and didn't know what my egg circle shape

was going to look like today.  I only had 10 minutes and then the timer stops and you are done!

horses are tricky and the eyes are difficult to get right let alone

everything else.  I have fun with the mane though.
