outside + supervisors

straw being shovelled to fill the horse poll shed or shelter

It appears, as usual that I need to be out here just to supervise and make
sure tractor and Mantracker are doing things efficiently.
 Hello girlfriend!

an iconic photo as a couple of the horses are in the arena and they are not   All ears pointing
forward

how is your winter November day?  Sunny I hope!

on the payroll

Hi!
my first day at the flower shop
was very different for me.  I unpacked the new vases and washed,
decorated them to be ready for
inserting orchids next week.
I learned how to make card insert holders
with silver wire.  That was fun and a bit
embarrassing as I did not do well with those.
after the 4th attempt they will have me
back cleaning and decorating vases on Monday!
I am the delivery girl starting Wednesday and
look forward to that.

Love and Hearts to you this week!

crafty feelings

are you crafting and repainting for a perfect Christmas season?

or are you just enjoying the overwhelming feeling of
the giving of Christmas?

I go into my art room and start painting or glueing or writing
and then I remember how to enjoy this special time on the calendar year!

my little news is I will be working at our local flower store (All About Flowers) helping with the
busy season, delivering flowers, taking phone orders and whatever they need me for!  If it works out I can be there for the busy Valentines week and so on,  Sounds enjoyable to me.

its been a year

I retired/resigned from Innovation Credit Union a year ago
and what have I been up to this past year? you ask or may not ask?

{taking notes while looking at some modular homes  - tucking in more info just in case]

completed my facilitator support work with Griefshare at Eastside Church of God last May

involved myself in Young Living Essential Oils and presented myself with these oils at SC Market Square in Aug and Sept.  Great fun and opportunity to share and meet people!

attented a wedding in Ucluelet BC and visited 2 girlfriends in Qualicum BC and Nanaimo. Fantastic time! this was in July

put our acreage up for sale end of August

sold our acreage end of October - 1 week before the listing expired and we were sure that we would still winter at Kirkville.  surprise!

moved to Regina and landed there Dec 1 and the next day the -40 celsius weather began

began my physical -mental health journey on Dec 16 at Bodhi Tree Yoga in Regina and still doing it twice a week. This yoga stabilized my new life in the condo and kept me grounded and true to my decision to move and leave a 21 year financially secure job.   my 1st year of retirement/no career/no structured schedule or paycheque that previously establises my worth  is a unnerving process.  I was used to the credit union being my life and priority and when I left it was freeing however unnerving at times.

I did alot of painting on my own and some with other ladies and learned that
i love acrylic painting over watercolours.  Acrylic is easy to create texture and
dark deep colours faster.  So I like that,

our son just moved into his home and has a renter now to help with the payments (Yay!!)
we just moved his stuff a couple of weeks ago as alot of it was in storage at Jays Moving.

I have so many friend connections here in the Queen City that it is overwhelming but great!
the best is being close to all my family.

I am now working on my resume (thats alot of work) in case I need to
check out a job that sounds appealing.  Getting ready for a new lifestyle job is
work but I am enjoying the learning -  as alot of tips are available online and from friend connections in that field.  I now know that the cover letter is the most important to get right.

this is a new challenge and it is very good...Be Committed To Do Whatever It Takes to Have Want You Want. - BE  DO  HAVE!

thankfully

this post is about being thankful for
my home and the peace and
tranquility of our acreage and
country house

we have had 3 viewings and one private deal offer
and a possible offer, but financial hurdles abounded there.
I am ready to settle here for the winter and
come April this acreage will be ready for sale
once again.

thankful for the successful viewings
and kind comments
and professional realtors
the end of October is coming
and our contract will close with Remax

my son is well and sucessful and liked
at his job right now;
my husband has a great job in Regina and
I have fun using and promoting my essential oils.

Happiest of Thanksgiving to all of you!

diffuse diffuse...

I was introduced to essential oils from a facebook friend and I attended
a information evening and was sold on all the health successes that the women their
were experiencing.  It also gives me something to enjoy and spend quality time
on since retiring.

I know health is an issue for most of us:
I take cholesterol (Lipitor)
I take (Altace) for blood pressure
and my blood sugar and hand eczema I am using
YL Sulfurzyme vitamins
I use peppermint oil and eucalyptus oil for my seasonal allergies instead
of Reactin or Alleve or Benadryl over-the-counter-drugs.

I am doing a progressive change to chemical free living, but it is very
progressive and it is dangerous to abruptly switch as I believe we need the
doctors and alternative naturopathic doctors and our nutritonists to work on our health.
Dr. Gary Young is the man in motion on these oils and products and he created
the selling of oils from his plant farms in Idaho, Utah, Ecuador (total of 7 chemical free plant farms where they slowly distill or extract the oils from the plant with the technical monitoring of when the plant is ready to farm from- seed- to- oils- to- bottle)

I have several things for my booth I am setting up in Sept at the Market Square such as
soaps with essential oils and pendants and car air-freshners to use and I want to keep promoting because it is fun to meet and greet people and present different products.

I am investing in bringing in some pendants for diffusing and car air freshners to keep that pure healthy air wherever you are.  These are for the Market Square YL essential oils
booth in Sept.  I  will enjoy doing this...it is so entirely different than what I have been
doing for the past 21 years
I had a great time at the SC Fair booth with Leah and other distributors and sharers of their love of these pure oils.  I learned a lot about what the
young, middle-age and old are looking for in alternative health:

I had men with severe foot pain, muscle pain, young adolescents who want
to do a 5 day cleanse and be healthy, I had a young man who worked in the mine up in
Saskatoon and he gets so low on energy and wanted to know if there was an oil
for that, he purchased a bottle on-line, and the biggest seller was Lavender oil, and Peppermint Oil and my favorite oil Valor....

I love pendants and bracelets,

check out some of these I will be bringing in...maximum price is $15 and
you can choose your oil to drop on the pendant and smell it all day as you wear it
young girls will love this?

Terra-Cotta Pendant Diffusers

These wonderful handcrafted terra-cotta pendant diffusers are perfect for taking your favorite essential oil scent with you all day.

This lovely pendant has a polished stone-look surface, and hangs from a black cord. Each pendant is handmade and unique. The back of the pendant has a special absorbent surface meant to diffuse essential oils. Enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy all day long, wherever

Apply one drop of your favorite essential oil to the surface of the decorative terra-cotta medallion, and hang it in your car, bathroom, office, or other area to diffuse the fragrance!

I am making some soap bars with the essential oils in it and will
have that to sell as well

lots to be creative with and lots for me to get ready and make the soap bars

I usually have my diffuser going during the day too, while I am in the house working or
napping....

my oils that work best for me when diffusing

smells fresh and divine!

new game plan

new game plan..... staying on this acreage for 2013 year, moving away is not working for us right now, leaving my job and hubby away during the week is enough, i have a hired hand for the winter to assist with animal chores so i can sneak away to the condo ....figuring out the budget now...really is that necessary (yup!) until I can find some "Donna" money this winter...it is all pretty exciting just with that...I make plans and sometimes it changes and sometimes the plan goes forward. That is the challenge and the journey.

after April 30

remember the post i wrote about Largest Obstacle

i talked about Focus and I talked about how difficult it is to maintain and keep your focus when
there are distractions and little words jumping into your head reminding you that your focus is silly?

well my Focus was to leave my job after 21 years

the largest obstacle was money

so now I have kept my focus and I have only 2 more weeks before I leave
one full paycheque coming and a little one after that

so what now?

1.  I continue to write, repeat... I continue to write and I continue to seek, a publisher and editor sensitive enough to read, advise and work with me for a nominal fee (this is a sensitive book I have been writing seriously now for 2 years).

I have had one editor who got me writing it all down - took me 3 weeks and that was fast
writing and then that editor got sick and her work with me ended.  I had another editor who was going to assist me for a nominal fee of $90 per hour!  yikes i got overwhelmed with that and said no thanks.  So now I am editing and editing and taking more time and I am beginning to get an outline, a set up and it is work but i enjoy doing it and if it takes 5 - 10 years for me to get it out well so be it.  My plan is maximum of 5 years to have it published.

2. i continue to help people who are grieving and I am co-faciliting a griefshare program right now
(www.griefshare.org)

3. I continue to improve my well being and just signed on as a Young Living Essential Oils distributor and enjoying the informative healing community that surrounds it.

4. I will require some "Donna" money after this summer as I am not taking out my pension yet I have a tiny plan of speaking and setting up a informational somewhere...

5. interests for jobs that are part-time and i want to apply for are:  libraries or in a equine therapy centre - where did that come from? equine therapy centre....hmmm that just came out from writing this post.

so there it is i have written it down and shared my plans.

(7 years ago with Rocky)

18

 i am starting to smile
i have 18 working days left
21 1/2 years in the credit union system
i am proud of that

now I am just going to keep smiling
looking forward to the changes in my life
after those 18 days!

HAPPY EASTER!

career words

these are the new words
in my corporate world which is basically just
banking; coming from the "top of the ladder" and down
to the 'rungs' of the ladder

realignment of talents
segmenting
lean
member 1st
adaptability to change
innovative
salary grid
financial strategies

these words don't seem to exist anymore:
streamline
massage
tools
outside the box
organizational chart
tasks
daily plannings
teamwork
specialize
tweeking

my "job" is now a
fine art of interpreting
the e-mails coming through

just like wading thru...

filtering out what I really need to know...

I might have to take this next step.....LOL

have a great Friday !

i Carols

i mentioned earlier about the credit union
choir
well we performed today in the main foyer
of our credit union
and we had a great time!

we sang Silent Night in German
Myself and another coworker performed Silent Night  in "sign language", I "signed" last year by myself and this year I had a partner,

we were on the radio this morning for 20 minutes

it really got me in the Christmas/holiday spirit!

just sing it!

our credit union has an icarols singing group
anybody can sign up and sing
we perform in December in the main foyer of our
credit union for 20 minutes during banking hours
our little singing group is gonna try and sing
this song "Band-Aid"
here is the video of the 1984 older version (but I think it is the best version)

this is only one of the songs
we have a few other christmas "oldies but goodies" carols
it is quite fun!

this year there are no tenors or bass singers because the men have
shied on us ....hmmmm I think there needs to be some more serious persuasion
we will try!

Dec 18 for 20 minutes, lots of practicing and it really puts forth
this wonderous season spirit for me.

(did you identify any of the singers in this video of 1984?)

the only one I identified was "boy George"?

is it all about me?

here is a pic of me taken while waiting
for my supper at a restaurant
it is washed out, but somehow i like it
it is a good idea to save some
photos of yourself
I am not perfect nor is any
pic of me

let me think about my post title
is it all about me?  well
I have to take good care of my physical and mental
health to raise a family,
to go to my job each day
and perform well
I have to drive everyday and be alert
none of that is perfection but it is
all about me!

I do every once in a while get into a turbulent discussion
with friends and associates, because it means "I care" and
i want something to change
I am changing all the time and I am learning all the time
this life encourages and drives me to do that
somehow i at times cannot keep up with
the changes expected and need to go back to
my "boundaries" and morals

it is all good!

bare bones Friday

 got paid this morning
checked my account online
by tommorrow morning
it will feel like I am living the "bare-bones" life

save a little
share a little
spend a little

I think I am needing a new definition on "little"!

Changing Direction

☻♥♪♫☼☺
Yes, I do agree that there are some folks who find something they adore and stick with it for their lifetime – but they are not in the majority. Perhaps we can say that they are blessed with an unending passion for what they/we often chose a career that is seemingly steadfast and fiscally sound until we find ourselves terribly bored and without passion. Or maybe we never felt any passion in the first place for our career or maybe we never knew what we wanted to do in life at the time we made those choices. If you are one of those people who are not enthralled with your career – read on.
There’s always a moment when we realize our life is not going in the direction that we always dreamed it would go – it is kind of like getting hit with the cosmic two-by-four and asking: How did I get here? Sometimes we call that a mid-life crisis, spiritual breakdown or a come-to-Jesus moment. No matter what we call it – the best aspect of this realization is that it brings with it unending possibilities and opportunities – if we are willing to be open to the miracle of life.
Once this realization comes into our consciousness – normally the next occurrence is not a vision of us running off, excited to find our next calling. Instead what happens is an onslaught of every possible reason for not letting go of our comfortable but mundane lives. The amount of fear-based reasons for not getting out there and taking a chance at something new are formidable. Perhaps you are familiar with some of these objections:

• I can’t leave where I am until I have something new in line.
• I don’t know what I want and until I do I should stay with this.
• I’m too old to start something new at this time.
• I don’t have the resources to make what I would like happen.
• I don’t know how to create what I would like.
• I don’t know anyone in that business and have no connections.
♣♦♥
If any of these objections have passed through your mind – please see them for what they are – lies. You are capable of creating anything – especially with help. There are so many people out there willing to assist us in creating our dream – but we must be willing to start talking about what we would like and asking for assistance. Believe me, you are never too old to create something new and allow your spirit to soar. There are no excuses for mediocrity and you pay a very high price for a little safety in life.
If you haven’t thought about any of this before – happiness before the cosmic two–by–four gets you! perhaps now is the time to meditate on your happiness.

Spread your wings, open your heart and fly.

largest obstacle

what is the largest obstacle
holding you back
from living your dream?

when the question was asked
and it was written out on card
i had to think and the first thing
i said was money
then i said time
then i said family
then i said being married

who asked me this question and
why was it written on a card?
my hubby was,
simply because we were dining at
KIVA Cafe last night
and "conversation" cards are left on your dining
table, because there is no reserved seating
so you usually sit with people you don't know
so these conversation cards come in handy

the real true answer as to why i am not living or have not
achieved my dream
IS

FOCUS!!!!

this photo is blurred, just like my vision on my dream

this photo is closer and more clarity as it focuses only on the dry leaves from the 1st photo,  plus
i 'cinemascoped' the original picture and it came out like this. It is still blurred but more focused, that is where I am at today!
to achieve a dream is a 'willed' and 'focused' journey to get there,
a blurred vision of my dream, has given me an excuse, which means
you use excuses like distractions from all i stated above, money, time, family, marriage,
so i am keeping it clearer in sight

i can't tell you what it is because it is private work, but when the dream is in sight
i will share!

What large obstacle is holding you back from living your dream?

we've all left the building

our alarm went off at 4:50 a.m. and my Mantracker headed
for Regina at 5:30 to his 2nd week of his new job

then at 5:45 a.m. another alarm rang and Tom was up
to head to his job in town at REM

it was strange but OK
now I am just leaving for my job starting
at  7:45 a.m.

actually prefer to be dressed in my riding clothes
instead of my office get up
or reading my book on the deck
or going for a morning stroll
or playing with the dog
or vacumming,

you get the picture? lol!

(mom and dad took this pic of me just heading out for a ride, it is dorky so hope it picks up your Monday morning!)
