buckskin mare slow warm up

A windy day
pushing through a bit of fussing from Grace;
wind is a distraction.

Hubby's videos below:

A video of myself is a great way to critique my cues to my horse.
I'm good with this ride this afternoon!

My week of 63

My son (Tom) and I visited Gramma and Grampa on Friday.

They are both turning 90 years old this fall.

Birthday cake day at College Park.

Every Friday from 4 - 5 pm there is dancing with a keyboard player
and Tom and Gramma were rockin' it on the dance floor.
(Gramma has to watch her heart though, because she likes to move and jive!)

one, two, three...

turn and jive!

Gramma was sooooo happy her Grandson danced with her, because Grampa doesn't dance anymore!

Here are....
Tom's budgies/parakeets!
I was attempting to teach them to say "hello" but they have not
spoken that word yet.  Actually I think they are scared of me.  Tom is their
Master and friend so he can pick them up and talk to them.

A new visitor came home yesterday.  His name is Midnight and he is a 3 year old Paint!

Hubby's friend Morley owns this little colt and he is letting Brian do some horsemanship training with him!  He is a cutie!

Here is a video of Midnight!

Looking forward to more riding again and to watch Brian
work with this young rascal!

Also had a birthday lunch with my sister Barb and my friend Ilona
at Eastside Marios!  My niece Brenda was at this lunch too but I didn't get her in this photo.
I really enjoyed this time we had.

This is the end of my birthday week.  (I'm now 63)
I have connected with 3 really good friends this month.  Two from
Vancouver Island and this one in Regina.  I am very glad we can still
be friends and laugh and share the good and bad times.

simple joys when its cold out

I am tired of this cold weather too
so here is some little perks I had these last few days

Value Village find ..this sweater is plush and stylish and a Valentine
colour too!

drove up to visit my folks on Tuesday and Mom and I went for a walk
around the complex and when we came back to their suite we came back to this.
 Men and their recliners!

I love this bright sun and blue sky
so went out for a walk to the pasture
where our horses were gathered.

that's all folks!

lessons + celebrate

This is a blog to document lessons I have been aware of
and celebrations and energy therapy and horse relations, etc.
Read if you want:

(shoulder tendonitis prevention)
foods for my inflammation

gifts of the type 3 (energy profiling)
woman with Carol Tuttle and her Healing Centre

now here is a chart system for
planting your garden with the appropriate
companion (hubby's the gardener)

A hornets nest appeared unnoticed on our corral fence
for a long time ..until we did notice it this fall.

this is the first quote that we accepted in September
and are still waiting for them to come and paint!
I am waiting on our second painter's quote that I
had done 2 weeks ago!

this Christmas I came upon a lovely
desert for large crowds
here is the Trifle ingredients I made for Christmas Day
I had to pick up a Trifle bowl at Superstore
my other one didn't make it here in 2014 (could not locate it)

Christmas tree I purchased is huge and I enjoyed that
it was tall and perfect with so many lights on it.

Christmas is HUGE for me and the tree is VERY IMPORTANT!
We all enjoyed the extravagance that enriched our living room
with vibrancy and uplifting beauty.

Tom bought fireworks to celebrate his success with his youtube channel
Tommy's Puppet Lab of over 200,000 subscribers.

even this horse that manifested into being owned by us is
HUGE  for me and VERY IMPORTANT to my balance and energy
Just when I get her in my control with the riding techniques,
she goes and has a bad day or she doesn't like being around other horses
in the arena, you know, just like humans, it is a process to maintain balance.

Enjoy the last 3 days of 2018!

those moments

These are horse videos and horse experiences from several years ago

bareback on Rocky first time
back at SC acreage

GNP (grasslands national park trail ride)
Brian riding Leroy!

GNP

FORT WORTH, TEXAS 2015

our paint horse Ben came back to our new acreage after being
away for 8 months.  This is my favourite video of all time.
Rocky and Ziggy remember who he is that is for sure.

Schutler is a colt that is co-owned with Brian and his  friend and
it was our turn to train.  But....he developed a couple of sarcoids
that we had to get a vet check on treatment plan for it.

I will add more once I can get them transferred from all the different cell phone
cameras and my digital cameras that I used over the years.

our riding experience

Howdy!

How's life for you 'all this summer?
We are back from vacations at Cypress, Clear Lake,
and day trips to Good Spirit Lake and Madge Lake.
Will be heading to Regina Beach Saturday with my sister
and her friend.

Our son has been visiting us this week and I have always wanted a video of me riding a horse.  The loping or cantering is new for me in an arena setting.  I have no problem out in the open country to lope; for some reason arena riding is restrictive  to me when I want to do some loping.  I am practicing that here with my horse Grace.

Tom, this was a nice video of me and my Mantracker workin' it at Kirkville arena!

Keep calm and ride on!

chat on my horse

Tips of the Day at Kirkville

Brian and Mr. Z  apparently it was a better day today.  It's like that for humans too!  some days not focused as much the next day ....doing good!

I am working on saddling, bridling, unbridling, unsaddling, etc so more on the groundwork for me with a shorter time of riding.

We are on vacation at Cypress Hills so no more EXCITING (LOL) videos
for a while.

Have a great weekend!

melting finally - the pond

I'm just as relieved and
excited for spring to be here as anyone,so the melt is on.

This is the 3 year old colt who just stood here
for about 20 minutes and I yakked and chatted with
him, he is usually chasing the mares' but at this time I had
his full listening attention!

I hope this burnt-orange nose stays as it is a unique
marking

simple video of our pond today

3 old boys

just some quick vids of today's outdoor horse
fun!

Rocky is the Dunn horse and Ben is the brown
paint.  They are both geldings and our first
solid experience and training in our equine ventures

Both horses are 22 years old now
and in good health.

I used to ride Rocky all the time but
I needed a fresh start with a different horse and
am happy to have the buckskin mare Bruschetta, who I have now named Grace!

Rocky was Graham's horse and
when he passed on I learned about
horses, honesty and grief and most of all
I learned about myself in so many ways.

here they are 15 years ago at 4-H day at the
exhibition grounds in Swift Current
(Rocky and my son Graham)

I never know what's coming up in these posts
but this is Graham's month to remember
and these horses were A GOOD THING!

videos on horse

I always like to get a shot or two when
horses are around.
I thought the trees turning colour
would turn out on this video
Nada.

Ben, our so so favourite horse has been
improving since his accupuncture
treatment a couple of weeks ago!

Bridge fun

arena fun

the poet David Whyte wrote this:

"Anything or Anyone that does not bring you alive; is too small for you"

I think that is a brilliant statement.  Books, People, Animals, Birds, Plants...et al
are here for us to pick and choose our pleasure and once we find it we are to nourish it, flourish it,
learn more about it, share it.

What does this statement mean to you?

sarcoid on 3 year old colt

This 3 year old colt that we co-own has a couple of bumps on his body.  This video he is
just returning from a vet check and we will wait to see what she recommends for removal.  Vets' don't like to surgically remove these in the summer because of flies as when it is cut out it is not stitched closed.

They recommend natural liquid honey to place on the open wound and it heals very quickly.

New vet healing methods with a natural product.  Who knew?

{it was extremely windy when i took this video so my voice cuts out a bit - sorry!}

video on my blog..yay

Bruschetta warm up

My first rose bloomed in full today

have a happy rest of the weekend!

new website

This blog will stay as an archive. I am posting over here now: The Flash Speaks See you in the new place!
