paint colors in my home - help

I need help!

I am painting our kitchen and living room and
3 bedrooms and hallway and laundry room....
 the whole upstairs of our home and....

Linda here on this video has helped me alot
i lke the steel gray blue  paint shades for kitchen
however, this video was enlightening I have always
enjoyed House and Home with Linda!







any suggestions for a small kitchen with light
oak cabinets?

He built this wall mounted ironing board

and it is very handy for me.  I just pull the dowel out on the side.....

... lift up the board

and slide the dowel in place holding it under

the upright board and it rests on the dowel

He is handy and handsome!

Our family skiied every year since the boys

were 3 and 5 years; we always had a ski vacation
in February and this village is quite
real to me, so much adventure on those slopes!

Christmas is coming fast!

pot drama

all in one.  I put these on my deck table and

really enjoying.....

so this is what I have been up to

this week

my new floor rug;

it is plush and I can

squish my bare toes on it.

I love it!

I had a couple of cupboard doors that

we took off  and I decided to paint on it

(go big or go home!)

I am facing this month with as much positivity

as I can summon

so when one is idle it means you are given

opportunity to have fun or create or travel, whatever spins "your ponytail"!

Christmas is lit up here now

Hubby has been planning- building - cutting - and flooring and putting

up wallboard for our tiny little upstairs bathroom

it's been hard work because of the small space

and Brian is 6' 2" 

The medicine cabinet is to be constructed yet, by hubby.  The

 vanity he built from scratch using Maple wood with natural stain finish;

the floor and wallboards installed by him as well

(I was there for supervision and to keep the loud strange words

from steaming up this little bathroom.  I had it under peaceful control)

the sink is a square bowl and the faucet tap is open at the top

and water flows openly into the bowl.  I have always wanted one of

those - it's cool!

Mom and Son

a weekend visit just Mom and son

We went to a movie at the theatre and walked to an open gym at Elmwood Park

did some minimal workouts.  Quite an interesting concept I hope people use it?

 I like this creek and bridge.  It is my fav part of this city 

Tom's pets named Bella and Chico

have grown and very fortunate they don't have to

reside in a cage.  Tom built this open concept living arrangement

they do have a cage but at home this is their space

it looks fun and they keep to this area pretty well

we also went mini-golfing and shopped for some updates to

his living room which was fun because Tom spent the money and I put forth

decorating suggestions.  It turned out well considering he only had the sofa's in this 

living area for 2 years.

Much better!

We live 4 1/2 hours away from Tom so don't see him

as much but when we do it is good!

getting it done

The wind makes me restless

not like rain.   When it rains I want

to just sit and read and take naps.

Wind is disturbing and means

change, something is coming, or the

universe is angry.  It just unsettles me.

the headboard/bed frame is completed and installed

b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l!

I have no idea what this weave is about I just got bored and

started it because it has been 55 km winds here for at least 2 days.

the garden got planted and my hoe has been in use already

to trench the rows.  It is a big job but a satisfying one.  Helps when both of

us work on the gardening together. (a rain now please)

This is a Killdeer bird and she has her nest in-between the trees around the house on the black plastic.

We didn't see her until she appeared as a wounded bird (a tactic killdeer use to protect their nest)

I took a picture as she was on her 4 speckled eggs...but she was not happy!

so much to do right now, but we are retired and have the time to do lots of things.
just going to saddle up a horse next!

retirement talents coming out

Hubby surprises me sometimes.  Especially with his construction of

a new headboard and bed frame for our bed.   He has been constructing

in our garage for the last 3 weeks.   

  It is made from Pine wood with a Mohogany stain.  

His Grandpa Whiston (his mom's dad) would be proud!

Who knew?

my third practice weave sample

I found the dowels at Michaels in Regina.
(what would I do without this huge crafty store)

this is for real and I want it as a wall hanging in the TV room

I have more weaving to go yet.

it is raining here and no sunshine for 4 days
I am down with an allergic rhinitis and waiting for my medicated
nose spray to start working; the symptoms are just
like having a bad sinus cold.  It is now day 4 and I was told it can take 4 to 6 days for medication to kick in.
missed last 3 days of my retirement job at Chicken Cow.  I will need to make up the time.
that's okay.  I enjoy my paycheques.

hope your halloween is not rainy and windy like it is here.

a painting project

We are wanting a new front door

and bought a steel already primed door

We are painting it to a color we matched with

one on display at Home Depot

Brian and I are not "rock-star" painters so we are

taking our time with this because ...it's the front door!

steps to this as per Home Depot door expert are:

1. wash with TSP and water

2. then wipe with water

3. rub down door with rubbing alcohol then DO NOT TOUCH when done

4.  Paint the door, and all 6 sides as well as the door frame. This will prevent warping!

we have custom picked our glass insert (above)

2 coats on this side painted

Brian rolls the paint on with a foam roller after I have done the

trim and sides and hard to reach spots

I will post when we have our door installed!

a early birthday cake to nibble on this weekend it is 

1/2 buttercreme and 1/2 chocolate (cake boss).

I bought this at our local co-op and it was in a "cake boss" box so I bought it and it was

really delish!
