to be at work

i am back at work today,

2 1/2 weeks vacation over

 I have to kickstart my mind and think faster

than I have been lately

 put on my watch and keep track of time today, i am on a schedule

Summer will have to play tug by himself

and I will be tugging myself at my desk with a coffee to

keep on working

but I love my paycheque

and I will be on task!

have a focused Monday!

Fresh Air, Massage, Singing

i am tired of feeling sorry for myself and so I went outside and 'KirkvilleKonnect'ed with Ben

I popped an Advil and put on my infrared riding back support (works great when my back is sore) and enjoyed the fresh air and horse smell

I am booked in for a massage at 5:15,p.m. {nice}

then choir practice at 7:15 p.m.

beautiful Saturday

hmmm... what an amazing sunshine and blue sky we had here today.  After the white flaky stuff left the ground (finally, too early for that yet!) I did my power walking thing and then I lay on the ground and looked up and took about 50 pictures of just ...'whatever'.... was around me.  

My Best Shot Monday-future rancher

Our neighbour's boy, Carson, came over with his dad on Saturday to help us with hauling and unloading hay bales. He told his mom that he couldn't go to the "Fall into Christmas" craft show with her and his sister, because he was going to "Brian's to help unload hay bales". And so he did. Carson, also loves dogs and Summer warmed up to him very nicely.


He was so serious and focused...
he will be a great help to his dad's ranch with that keen interest! (so cute}

A Best Shot for Monday

My mom and dad's 80th birthday celebration on Fri nite was a big success. Nice to have the complete "tribe" together! (minus Brian renos and Lisa photographer}

Ellie and Kalven-My Best Shot Monday

My neighbor Rena and her two children dropped in Saturday night. I had not seen Ellie and Kalven for quite some time. They flew into our house and were excited about our dog and especially our turtle. Oh…the turtle. I caught this photo while they both were on “summer’s” doggie bed. These young children take me back to sweet and special moments.

Highfield Dam - My Best Shot Monday {night}

Only a few miles from our home is a reservoir, a very voluminous reservoir of water, which actually is a dam.

This is my best shot Monday. Driving along the Highfield Dam Road searchng for a good entry spot into the water with our aluminum friend, the canoe.

My boys used to fish along this dam. It wasn't until just this past July when I frequented once again to head to No. 1 East highway when Brian said "heh..why don't you try canoeing on that body of water"? and so we glided the canoe onto its waters in July and then again yesterday. Tom came with me this time and of course it was a “heavenly” experience of nature. Tom knew all the birds on the water and all the gulls noisily resting on the sandbanks and flying over our heads, the “grebes” nesting with their eggs right on the water. The water was crystal clear but very heavily weeded as is the "norm" for August.

I feel so balanced and joyful …it is a wonderful long lasting feeling. I have my own body of water to slip my canoe into when I am feeling disjointed and unsure.

ears - My Best Shot Monday

as we drove up to the grazing coulees to fill water tanks for our equines the ever exciting moment comes when the yellow bucket of oats swings out from the truck and they start to crowd and push each other but the golden dunn Rocky is Boss and I laughed as his pinned back ears is a warning and the other two had to move back. Rocky is an "easy keeper" horse and runs the show in our herd.

the climb-My Best Shot Monday

our equestrian club ventured out on a hilly trail ride on Saturday and it was hot 34 degrees Celsius...it was beautiful scenery and great exercise for the horses. It was a good day. After I came back to our trailer I took my hat off and dunked it in the water bucket and placed it on my head {felt good!}.

Wild Green-My Best Shot Monday

this is our Marsh on our acreage, which is surrounded by big rooted trees and as I came back from my walk the other day my eye was drawn to this view, so green and wild.

I love purple - Best Shot Monday

amidst the renovations around the outside of our house these purple sedums all of a sudden bloomed as they do every year and I so love this colour. I took this picture quickly before they got trampled. Flowers are so encouraging especially hearty perennials.

this is a collection of special pieces that I put together to hide the white well pipe on our yard. There is my wrought iron black trellis made by my son in high school, the water fountain my hubby bought me a few years ago, the rocks piled on the ground from our acreage and some rocks were painted at one time and now the paint has peeled and chipped off; The iron headed and stone body geese; my "azalea" plant I purchased in January and I transplanted into a larger pot, hoping it will bloom the nice pink blossoms it had before. The blue flowered hanging plant was purchased from my favorite nursery in town for 50% off just 2 days ago... It is fun to add something different each year to it. This is "My Best Shot Monday"

My Best Shot Monday

The spirit of a young teen and her horse gave me my best shot to share today. My friend's granddaughter lives down the road a few miles from us and she LOVES LOVES horses. She is training this horse for barrel racing. {sigh} youthful spirits...

beautiful black-My Best Shot Monday

This is “Ben” and I love the majestic look of a true black mane on a horse. Ben is our half quarter horse and half thoroughbred paint. He was so busy moving around and nibbling on the new green shoots of wild grass that I took this picture so quickly with several quick snaps before and after. Long, beautiful black… so black, so shiny, so unruly...beautiful!

oh sweet lilacs- Best Shot Monday

the lilac bushes in my backyard; I can see them outside my bedroom window and with the 2 day rain still falling down I just was inspired to take a picture and then take a few lilac flowers into the house. Such a nice sweet scent they have.

"the dandelion project"

There is something so timely about catching quick moments of just doing, and capturing the thoughts of people who have no idea you are taking a photo. This is what I love to photograph. My husband, in his english equestrian attire was just going to hop into his saddle and go for a ride when my son was having a dilemma regarding attaching the dandelion bar behind the JD tractor. A quick moment I thought was priceless and funny as I walked by the dining room window; so I quickly grabbed my camera...
