spring vibes

Spring is showing itself
with sunny blue skies.
We have a new colt at our
acreage.
Bruschetta is the mare on
the right (now named Grace), so muddy in this picture;
she needs her hooves clipped
and picture taken
as she is going up for sale
on some horse sale websites

here is a nicer pic of Grace (previously named Bruschetta)
she is a beautiful horse with a
good nature.

This colt is an interesting colour
a burnt orange colored nose
with gold hues showing through
his dark brown fur.

his name is Shutler (sp) (I do not know what it means) I'm going to call him
"new brown' horse!

blue skies
new horses
it's changing the energy around here
I like that!

team training

super fab weather
yesterday for Nov 6
so the 2 trainers/riders rode
both colts

getting on

moving forward

trotting

side by side (Tuko and Mr. Z)

no bit in their mouths yet
Tuko just has a halter on
and Mr. Z is wearing a Bosal

Which horse is your favourite?

warm up

the colts are starting to get
activated with training
Tuko (little brown)  was at
the horse clinic in June
Mr. Z has not been trained too much

here we go this morning
before it gets to hot!

running around

they are growing and their bodies are
showing more muscle and bigger hind quarters
(cowboys' like that)

Mantracker aka Brian's shoulder is 100% now
should be fun to watch the progress
for the next few years!

meet & greet equine style

these 2 colts are 18 months old
just arrived Sunday
meeting the herd boss (Rocky) can be quite an aggressive
few minutes
the 2 colts were very submissive
to Rocky but he still had his ears pinned back
and had to show some bossy moves...

They both are very friendly and not afraid of people
and we are happy to have them for training and playing with.

Welcome to Kirkville Little Red  and Little Brown!

super special

just felt like posting
super special moments...

butterfly on the deck

one of our colts checking me out!

Bruschetta  (8 year old buckskin mare now named Grace)

She is for sale and  Mantracker is touching up on some training with her while we wait for a buyer!

a soulful giggle

the amazing power I receive from
touching and standing beside a horse
sharing his space and just being
with them is a childish giggle that pricks my soul!

out to play

young animals who are in their first year of life
are so fun to be around  They are like small toddlers
but the bonus is they have fuzzy soft fur like a teddy bear and these colts
have survived the winter very well.  This colt here that I have my arm around
needed to be taken to the vet as he had a large lump under his chin.  The vet
opened it up and gave him some antibiotic to prevent it infecting.  He healed
up quickly.

 Little Red and moi

connecting with the little rascals are Mantracker's training
buddy and his wife

these are pictures of the 3 colts that Mantracker and Morley
have purchased to train and sell in the next few years.

3 rascal tails

We went to see the 3 colts that we half own with Mantracker's buddy out around the
Spy Hill area;
we brought them in from the trees and deep snow area out on the 1/4 section of land and
gave them some oats and "frisky foal" nutrition feed (for young horses under 12 months old only)

I took this picture because they were so busy
with there heads down and butts and tails is all I got
plus it was cold out!  I didn't want to stand around and wait
until they were done.

so the butt end to this post is
you have to eat to stay warm and you gotta
share the wealth and these 3 rascals seem to be sharing their feed quite nicely.

Can't wait to watch them and play with them a bit this summer.

I don't even have a butt joke for you!

Thunder is my name-o

this cute black "untouched" 2 year old was dropped off yesterday at our
training centre

they called her Thunder because she was born in a thunderstorm.
She has never been touched by a human so there is training to be done
by Mantracker.  This is exciting for her and for us.

untouched

youngsters to have fun with and learn from...

there is always change and something new to
refresh  my gratitude for the gifts I have
in my life!
