Our dog ..an update...

we are taking Summer to the vet on Wednesday and I am really hoping he can help with his pain. In the meantime we are now giving him glucosomine twice a day, instead of once a day, and an advil in the morning and at night {this seems to help a bit}. I spent quite a bit of time working on his back and hips with my healing touch techniques and he just splayed out on his side this morning as i tried to give him some energy from my hands. I know I have the right spot when he licks my face to tell me "ya that's it you got it".

We keep him in the house as much as we can but he still likes to be outside when Brian tends to the horses, he has a nice bed in the barn and a big doghouse outside with a nice big old mat in it and his favourite spot is right under the deck with his own "doggy" door.

It still breaks my heart to hear him whimper when he gets stuck going up a couple of stairs and i had to help him this morning as our step from living room to dining room is all hardwood so their is no grip for him. All in all he is doing okay but when he looks at me with his golden brown eyes ...well you pet owners out there know what i mean {sigh}

Is it 'people' Advil you are giving Summer? I didn't realize you could do that. You will be happy to get him to the Vet on Wednesday. Hopefully they can give him something to help!

we are trying the advil as a quick measure and taking a bit of a risk at the moment and seeing no problems with his eating and spirit in the last 3 days....
