I have noticed a morning routine around the dog house lately. I put food in Summer's dish outside the front door of his house every morning. He doesn't eat it right away. See the bird flying away from the dog and the food dish below? ...take a good look as my camera and shutter speed isn't as good with birds in flight...
Here is Summer standing and waiting for the next bird to get close to his dish.
he checks his food dish regularly in the morning while chasing the birds away from it. I don't know why he just doesn't chow down and eat. I think it must be a fun game of "bird and dog" instead of "cat and mouse"!
Once he tires of this chase he eventually chows down. It is a good way for him to get his exercise daily as I can't go for walks with him just yet.
