the lake and mom and dad
Happy Canada day! I went to see my Mom and Dad at Duck Mountain National Park known as Madge Lake (12 miles out of Kamsack). Tom came with me as he took off a few days to come out and enjoy this wonderful park and lake. I grew up at this lake and this place has a very strong pull for me. I seem to only get out to visit once a year, but when I do i pray for hot beach weather and swimming in the big clear clean lake....and that is exactly what i got. Mom and Dad were going to sell the cabin and move to Regina, but Dad put his foot down and told us that when the realtor came over and put the "For Sale" sign in the front of the cabin he felt like his life had ended. Mom was keen to sell and move to the city but realized Dad was not ready. Tom is applying to work at this park next year and he can stay with Gramma and Grampa. Mom and Dad are both 78 years old and have been very healthy. Dad is struggling with his heart all of a sudden (he may need a pacemaker)....So the golf course has not seen much of him lately and my Mom tore a ligament in her knee and will hopefully look after it and take it easy. (not a easy thing for her). Anyway I enjoyed being the only daughter and getting a little spoiled and Mom and Dad are learning to wind down and look after themselves. Love you Mom and Dad!
