Summer is now on "Meloxicam" {vets call it medicam} and it is for his arthritis in the hind leg. Summer is standing on all four legs and still favours his hind leg a bit. This medication is an anti-inflammatory which has to be monitored for dosage as it can cause ulcers for him. I now give him his dose every 2nd day and hopefully he will eventually take it only 3 times a week. He hopped into the back of the 1/2 ton the other night {to our surprise} as Brian was loading up the water tank for the horses up in the coulee. I am sure Summer is going to have a great 'summer'!

I am glad this stuff works! Summer is the best!
you were on my computer blog when you commented Tom...but thanks for leaving this note. Love you Mom (Donna} :)
Do you think this stuff would work for Harvey's hind arthritic hip???
He likes a scratch behind the ear once in awhile so maybe ...lol
Donna - I'm so glad Summer is feeling better. Perhaps you can give a cup of Summer's medicated dog food to Cheryl to see if it would indeed help Harvey and then she wouldn't have to buy a whole bag....{OMG she is just too funny}!
actually Cheryl, the vet told us that they experimented with anti-inflammatory drugs on dogs first before trying it on humans. Just a tip in case you want to check it out {you are too funny!}
I am so happy to hear that Summer is doing better...poor puppy!
