A Switzerland Mountain Excursion

I have had my dream since I saw the movie Heidi to visit
Switzerland....do you remember it? - there is a 1937 movie and a 1968  and a 1993 movie version.

I am changing this dream to reality before I turn 70!

There is a facebook page of Switzerland Tourism that I joined
and this video was on it....

I can dream a dream and I can manifest this dream!

winter lovely get away thoughts

A human life needs some colour;
so the colour in my life are - people

A peaceful heavenly soft place
can be found anywhere when the sun is out!

When away from home and your own country
you will see new wonders to take back home with you!

Staying cozy is nice for me, after awhile,  it is like
framing one-self inside all winter;
a nudge outside your coziness can sometimes be a renewal!

so many quotes and amazing statements
here is one I came up with

"always have your own space to ponder"

know your truth weekend retreat for women

Salt Lake City
I Love My Life 2018
women's weekend retreat!

Here are some photos that show just a tiny bit of our weekend with women and fashion and dancing and healing our guilt and for me it was about talking about gray hair styling.
I could use a bit more product in my hair to edge my style!

see these 2 women - edgy hair styles

my sis is keeping her blonde for now - she is stylin' it as usual!

shopping in the Dressing Your Truth store that was brought in just
for us

healthy food for lunches was provided

Carol Tuttle (I just love her jacket!)

A type 4 woman (on the left) and a type 2 woman (on the right)
Type 4's are bold and stunning as they can wear black and
the true primary colors

The woman on the right is a soft subtle type 2 energy
and her clothes are soft and muted colors and soft texture

I will tell my hairdresser about how to style and cut my hair

can you tell I like my new hat as it is a very type 3 style which I am a type 3
I can wear the richer, deeper colors that tend towards a dirty grainier version
of the primary colors
↘↙

LOL!  my kind of accessories for Type 3

after our break-out sessions for type 3 energy profiling women
(displaying all the colors we can really look awesome in and rock it!)

my sister is a upward and light very fun and cute type 1 energy profiled woman
It was so fun and easy to travel with her!

we enjoyed our stay at the The Hilton Hotel and used the pool and outside
decks and we also walked around the downtown area and got to see
all the Comic Convention costumes that were walking down the street all the time
we were there.  I should of taken a pic of the Mad Hatter family walking down the street - very awesome costumes.

There will not be one next year to attend so hopefully in a couple of years she (Carol Tuttle) will put on another weekend retreat.

advancements enhancements

right now
the best thing ever is
this yellow petunia - glorious yellow!

...hubby edged my flower beds with
landscape ties and I love the look of bordering
flower beds with lumber

The 'man-about -the -house' is building a new front
step  and I have no idea
how it is going to look - (he has a plan, he has a plan!)

Can't wait to see the result, of course I help him along when he needs it and provide
lunches, coffee and water to sustain him.

everyday heroes - our wellness support in Yorkton

I attended this conference on the weekend
it was the inauguration of a biannual event honoring women in Yorkton.
The heroes in the room are all of us attending. For those days that one feels less than heroic, there is a team of women ready to help pick you up.  There are the obvious women in your inner circle who you lean on often; but at this conference the circle gets bigger as we met and got to know and learn from the presenters of the passionate and compassion help available in my area.

Some health concerns and tips I picked up on:

  • Massage therapy helps cancer patients' and as well -touch- is important for our mental health!
  • eat more plant-based foods, like flax seeds, chia seeds, avocado, green vegetables.  We had a discussion at my table about how tiring a lettuce salad is becoming;  so at lunch a lovely vegetable mix that was steamed slightly and just dumped into a big serving dish.  The veggies were not too soft and not too hard and crunchy.  Simple, easy to eat and each vegetable was a different colour.
  • frozen fruit bought in stores is as good as fresh, blueberries are super anti-oxidants
  • celery is a fantastic inflammation and digestion fighter
  • Splenda for sugar replacement was not recommended and if you are diabetic or have high blood sugar it was suggested to buy Monk Fruit sugar (Bulk Barn carries it)  if you bake for Christmas  and special treats that require sugar ...use that
  • Sleep Apnea was talked about from a presenter at Parkland CPAP and it is a very common health issue.  A questionnaire was on our table to fill out if we wanted to see if we were at risk  or if we showed obvious symptoms.  Sleep Apnea means apparently that you stop breathing at some point or it appears that you stop but the chest is still moving.  Anyway it was super information and they talked about the small machine and mask that they carry.
  • Kung Fu demo was slow and boring but that is just me....we did learn some easy starter techniques to practice on ourselves.  Was enlightening but I am not jumping up to sign up for a class.  It does develop a great focus because in meditation you are sitting still but with Tai Chai or kung fu your focus is strengthened by the precise slow movements.  Maybe it is what I need (lol!)

There was a presenter about skin care from Prairie Beauty and an Acupuncture presentation; one for all about raw natural honey and so much more.  We all left with a nice swag bag too!

I am going to pick up some bok choy on my next grocery store
visit and try that out.

It was a good day and the cost for this was to just show up!

......Next one is on Sept 30th.

Namaste!  We all deserve good health and the support available to
ensure we have that.

last year snaps

these photos
are from last year
and I was reviewing all my pics
to see what I can blog about

moments....
is what the following
pics gave me

yellow!  (day lily finally bloomed)

I felt very awesome wearing this outfit
(comfy, dynamic, pattern fun)

this makes me laugh
when I saw this pic
I seemed to keep scaring these cows
when I went for my walks down
grid road.  They would stop and stare and then
run off quite a distance to get away from me!

women's weekend retreat in Utah
says it all here and it was terrific to
hike with these hot rich ladies (type 3s)

Carol Tuttle, who is my counselor/psychologist in my life now and she gives more
healing and authenticity to her community as the only co-founder and creator of Dressing Your Truth, plus this
outfit was her best from the weekend in September!

I painted my all black Ariat cowgirl boots I purchased back
in 2010  They turned out a bit bronzed which I love!

drawing and colouring flowers was the most enjoyable and
productive in my art room this year.  I was so inspired by my
new flower bed.

this picture of my blue Goldstone pendant was a hit
on my "yourstory" instragram pics.  It went so well
with this plaid blouse

present time now with
ending this post with this young man...

the winter olympics' snowboard events are my favourite
and I am looking forward to the "big air" snowboard jumping
on Feb 23 and 24th.  Mark McMorris from Regina is
fun to follow.  I have him energy profiled as a soft, subtle, detailed
and connected type 2 man.  His natural nature is to be relaxed and easily connected to people as well  he is very detailed so his
technicality skills when snowboarding proves that.!

AHA'S of my retreat in SLC

that I wrote and put in that tin can)

Our struggles  PRACTICE with our nature or energy profile (a..ha.. moments with Carol)

I am well on the path of practicing me; I no longer think of myself as recovering!  Take the word Struggle out of my vocabulary and replace it with Practice.

DYT is bringing your inner soul experience out into your outside appearance.

The inner self comes out in dressing your truth/inner-self.  Your appearance shows your soul with
DYT and my.liveyourtruth.com energy profile.

SELF CARE

self care is dressing my truth even if I am not going anywhere.!

ALWAYS DRESS MYSELF WITH MY TRUTH!

end of January nearing

{Too Much To Carry...Throw Away!}

Guilt, Money, Judgement, Purpose List

1.  I am comfortable being uncomfortable. {past coworker)

2.  Focus does not mean you say YES to all things pertaining to what you want to focus on, it is
saying NO to 1000 ..... distractions BE GONE!  {Steve Jobs/Brene Brown}

3.  I am responsible for my life results and I am trusting that the results other people are
creating is perfect for them now. {Carol Tuttle}

4.  The missing puzzle piece is Self-Love {Doodlesforchange}

5.  I appreciate money and money appreciates to support me. {Carol Tuttle}

6.  I am not a decorative plant and if I have to step back and be a quieter self to make others
comfortable...well time to move on from that environment. {Sweatpants and Coffee}

7. I am benefiting others when I am living true to my energy profile or nature. (Carol Tuttle)

8.  I must always make myself clear so others know exactly where I am at.  (my life lesson)

9.  Guilt is an opportunity to correct something and to stop feeding the past. The past is always
looking FOR SOME GUILT!

10.  I need to stand for something or I will fall for anything.

January is almost over!

my face-my nature

4 years ago I was sitting
in our Regina condo
and was on facebook and
a
free offer to discover your natural movement
and profile by living your truth by dressing your truth showed
up on my page.
I jumped in a took the free lesson
I had no problem figuring out what type I was.

It was so much fun and so
intriguing to understand and learn
about my "flaws" and all the good there
is about who I am.

I have not looked back

I am soon flying to Salt Lake City Utah and participating in a weekend
retreat with 400 women all over the world who are flying in just like me to
learn more about why I do the things the way I do and that it is a gift to the world and
how to have confidence to know that it is!

My husband has find out his type and it helps so much in our marriage because he is
a different profile than I.  It is so cool.

I am beyond excited to get their on Sept 21 and talk colors, fabrics, how
to match that with my energy and natural characteristics.  It is so much more
than clothes but yet it is about beauty and learning that we are who we are
and it is a gift.  Even the way I use money and my decision making process that
I now understand completely and it is all okay.  It's me!

what was the best part of your day

A friend of mine
told me this line she
always said to her kids while growing up
(you know who you are friend)

What was the best part of your day?
at bedtime this was asked
no matter what type of day was experienced

I always use this line now even with my hubby
and my son

There is always something to pick out of the day.  Usually lots
of things pop up; subtle and joyous moments

For me, so far today has been the power of technology
i used during my walk on a secondary road
this morning, I listened to a meditative voice
as I walked; we can be guided however we choose

Even though I had a headache this morning and still do
I felt the delicious leafy greens of my salad ingest me with
something natural and colorful - I enjoyed my salad and it was
just leaf green lettuce leaves with some bits of celery in it
and a couple of chunks of tomatoe with my favourite greek-feta
salad dressing

some other moments this month....

tall forest trees at Riding Mountain National Park
took my breath away

this simple wild rose

sitting in my own living room and noticing
the light from the night lite and the dining room window
shine just perfectly for me to enjoy

What was the best part of your day?

my guilt list

okay
I am going to nip this in the bud
so to speak

The Guilt List

I feel guilty when.....

I don't bake enough

I don't have food prepared
for company in my freezer

When someone vents out loud I think it is my fault or somehow
I screwed up

I read too many books, am I lazy?

I should of hugged my boys more when they were little

Because, I am not much for hugging

When I don't have anything planned for the day, or several days

When I am not making friends

When I use money incorrectly

When I do not have as much energy as other women seem to

When I cannot patch up the past and have to just live in the present

When my neck gets stiff and I once again have to slow down and relax

....and on and on it will go and it depends on the time of year

The Guilt Resolved List

in my senior retirement years I have resolved this.....

  • My self-talk is positive

  • My confidence is based on my Guilt List (above) - if no guilt ....I can move forward, plan some fun...et al

  • Christmas comes around and I know I love buying a live tree and bringing it home and watching it thaw out to see what shape it will actually be.  Decorations are minimal.  I know once that tree is in the house the guilt about cooking, baking and performing traditional meals is always a work through process for me.  I don't feel guilty anymore because I know what I love that time of year.  Lights!  I speak my mind to my family about what I need this time of year and I know that it is appreciated - "Don't shrink, don't puff up, just stand my sacred ground!

my mother-in-law made a statement to me
many years ago when my boys were toddlers and I was really
not coping well.  She said "Donna, everything will pass in time". Sometimes
I remembered those words and sometimes I didn't.

I know there is more guilt that crops up depending on
timely events and things misinterpreted among people

I trust myself and have a purpose in life to
be truthful to my nature and then things do fall into place
with guilt or no guilt.  We cannot get back to the past, even if I try I just can't get there!

Have you ever written down your guilt list?

energetically turquoise

The colour of my blog header
is Turquoise! A colour I have not
always been attracted to.  I couldn't figure
out why I preferred this color instead of the others for my new header.

here's why....

I have been attracted to this colour
just a wee bit this last few months
and I found I am wearing this pendant alot lately.

{Swarovski Crystal Apple pendant}

Turquoise or Robin Egg colored easter eggs
is on my brain today.

Have a Happy Easter!

show and tell

first decoration out tonight

it's peaceful

it is called a Schwibbogen (German Christmas display)
intricately carved by a local German resident here in this fair
city of mine.

I am looking forward to our tree {search-load-unload-thaw
haul in- needles falling on floor- cursing- nice-smelling tree!}

I will also need help this year in decorating...

the last doctor's appt stated
that I have developed a Frozen Shoulder
so I am busy doing physio exercises
and lifting my right arm up cannot be done yet
it's going to take time and rest and especially exercises
I am no longer in pain
but in pain only when I do too much and try to
raise up the stiff shoulder

so tree decorating will be a partnership this year

nothing profound here (just show and tell);
just starting to feel the season's spirit!
