new website

This blog will stay as an archive.

I am posting over here now:

See you in the new place!

keynote

this is a photo I took in 2014
it was quite a hefty dramatic event
that Brian and I made happen out in our new yard just shortly
after we moved to our new acreage in the south eastern part of the province

 I took a pic
before the event began

do you know what it is?

our new home on this acreage had one piano
sitting in the living room that desperately needed a piano tuner and repair work done
we did not want it, but it came with the house.
I had my
piano I moved into the basement which was my grandmothers and
it is still in top working condition

I paid a mover from "The Brick" store to move it out onto our front
deck.  They were unloading and moving our new furniture and dining set into our
home and I gave them some extra $ to move this piano to the deck outside.
I tried to sell it/donate it on Kijiji and locally with interest and ...well..it's difficult to pick up
a piano and take it somewhere else.

so....

Brian took his front end loader and picked it up off the
deck (this was tricky but it got accomplished without
ruining our deck)

we burned it
it was really something and quite
sad to see this burn {sigh}

I did keep the very ornate music stand that was on
this piano.

I have my grandmother's piano.
It is over 100 years old and plays beautifully
with a tune up every few years!

yes, it was a horrible misery to get this down into yet another
basement (eeks)  it was in Swift Current home too; to note,
both boys took piano lessons from it as well;
is quite a treasure for me.

I have my grade six piano and I am so grateful my parents
gave me the opportunity to take lessons because I now appreciate and enjoy in my maturing years!

stressors out

we have been handling an issue with the purchase of
our home and acreage for the past year
and it has finally been resolved but not without a
poor relationship developed with the vendor
and extra funds $$$ poured out by us we had not planned for.
Once the shock that this money needed to be paid
and several conversations to understand why is now over.
Over and resolved but still has me wondering what happens to the
emotions and anxiety of working it out with strangers I am still holding
in my body.   We didn't win but we got our legal rebate $$.

It's like looking through the fence and seeing the other side
then when you are on the other side it just smells
like a dirty hole we were forced to climb through and rulings that was missed by our realtor
and our lawyer.
It is just money, but that line is getting old with me.

"Sunshine in and darkness out"

a change for my folks

my mom and dad
moved to a new senior's facility
this last week

the downsizing of  their
apartment to this facility required a tremendous
amount of purging of pictures, end tables, 90% of their kitchen equipment,
When the movers came on Friday they were not advised in their agreement
to pack anything.  Just to move the furniture.  My dad panicked
and phoned my brother as at 86 years old that is devastating news.
Mom and Dad had to make very quick decisions on what
to keep and what to take with their treasures on the walls on
shelves, they did not handle that easily and my brother and sister
came over quickly and got the boxes and started to pack everything.
my poor dad thought it was in the agreement to pack up everything.

Moving sucks, and we all think we have gotten rid of stuff and my folks
did do that but not nearly as much
as should of been done

anyhow nothing got packed a head of time and Dad constantly assured us
that the movers were doing it all.  Oh my, it is a good thing that it
did not happen that way and purging was done before they hauled all of it
 into their new suite!

I took the microwave, toaster oven, nesting tables, antique cutlery sterling silverware
set, a quilt, kitchen pottery, soup tureen, eagle antlers, spoon collections, etc

so being officialy moved in
we had tickets 2 days later to take mom to an early
Mother's day tea at the Regina Floral Conservatory

so that is how the the move ended up
and they already seem happy with the new
facility so I hope it continues that way.

Dad is still driving his jeep and he said I sure hope
I will still be driving for a few more years yet!  hmmm maybe?

this is not a post about.....

this is not a post about dropping friends out of my life.
It is all about getting the message intuitively that this is what needs to be done.  I recognize that some friends a long while back accepted me as their friend right away and I just fell into that relationship without recognizing the value that was not there for me.  I am living a newer life with a very different perspective.  Their lives were not pretty in the end and I got wrapped up and was working hard to understand why they just did not do anything about their mess.  It is none of my business and they are special people to other people and I will not judge them.  I will let them fall away.  I don't want to be a spider!

btw webs have been a real nuisance this summer on our windows and deck and chairs and I am always bumping into a new one

I have sprayed peppermint essential oil all over my deck and pressured washed the
front entrance twice.  Nature wins most of the time.

condo mondo gone

we sold our little Regina home that served us quite well while spouse was working here for 2 years
I won't say we made any huge profit on it but it pays out our mortgage so no more
condo fees and mortgage payments.  The Regina housing/condo market really has hit a low so we are grateful to have a confirmed sale.

now it's home

it really feels like home now and when Ben arrives it will be quite the reunion!

a sense of humour please

humour is vital
especially now, here at this
acreage,

we are dealing with lino damage from the
movers on July 11

we are dealing with lino staining from our new
dining room furniture table legs (permanent orange squares on our
lino now)

the plumbing is not working in the kitchen sink upstairs
and the one downstairs (leaking under the sink)

to get a quote or estimate for flooring
around here is difficult as the area is dealing with
flooding house damages in the area

stress was playing on me and the phone calls and decisions
became insurmountable for me as I am dealing with a claim with a furniture store
and the moving company for other things as well.

So I said to myself, or actually I wrote it down and this is what i determined.
"when is it going to end" I do not want this much to deal with.  I put it out to that there
"universe" and then got up the next morning and said to Mantracker "I am phoning the furniture store and then I am getting on the phone to book quotes and estimates" and I am going to be happy during
that process and then I will be moving forward after that process.  This is not life threatening it is my lack of "patience" and wanting things fixed NOW that is disturbing me.  Do what I can and wait for things
to get activated.  I will have to wait.  End of story!

hang my hat over my chair without a care and step away....I feel better and I am sleeping
so much better at night.  We do have a new chiropractor bed and it is INCREDIBLE! so supporting and it is firm and we both are sleeping well.  Our new love seat and sofa are italian leather and they provide 4 reclining positions to relax in

We are laughing about it a bit now and it will get better.
starting to fence the first 10 acres of our 40 acres on the weekend and have
all the supplies and lined all the posts down on the ground
post pounder is booked for 3 days.
I am looking forward to working outside and helping my partner.

a little messy yet but a glimpse of some of the furniture

fencing pictures are next!!!.....ill be wearing my downton abbey hat  LOL!
humor humor....i need a joke here... ah  I have one nerve left and your on it?  no no that isnt funny
um...how about "If I had Johnny's cash and Charley's pride I woudn't have a Buck Owen!!
how about ...oh I will quit now (if your still reading this)!

grateful and normalcy

i am grateful for my son Tommy who is a very unique and
introspective young adult and is using his 2 weeks vacation
to help out with lifting and moving furniture and
hauling fence posts and buying me ice cream

i am grateful for the beautiful lakes in the southeastern part of
this province, namely Yorkton area.  My favourite lake is still
Duck Mountain Prov Park and then Good Spirit Prov Park.  The Duck Mountain
beaches were gone due to the flooding but the water was still clear and a lovely temperature to swim in

my mini golfing times are very minimal however we golfed the
18 holes here at Duck Mountain as it is a beautiful new mini golf course with
water fountains and rock and brick...it was fun and of course my son
beat me by 4 shots!

there are some grateful posts written up on facebook and I thought I
would write mine here

I am wanting a normal non-moving lifestyle back soon, but not yet as we still
have a little condo furniture and the kitchen to move here to Yorkton yet

the moving boxes are mostly gone and recycled at Sarcan but there is always a box I bump into
and not sure where the  things in it will go...I have so many photo albums and old pictures and old
framed pictures...sounds like a project someday?

Grateful for my husband Brian for being such a handy man around this new place because we are
noticing some plumbing problems in one of our sinks (several trips to good old Canadian Tire he has made!)  it will take a few months to get it all sorted out and then maybe a couple of more years after that too!

I am grateful for my health as I keep moving around and have minimal issues with my back and neck
and I have lots of energy.

I am grateful that I retired from my good old career in the credit union system and that I have a pension which is
finally going to kick in pretty soon!

grateful?  you bet!

new kirkville

here we are and a whole 2 weeks living at our new home,
the pond is amazing with all the
birds swooping and diving and swimming
on it

new kirkville acreage...ta da!

the inside of our home is getting slowing put together...so I slowly may share a photo or two in the
next while!  it is summer and I want to pull out my canoe and paddle first!

new digs move

{housewarming gifts)

I have tried to write here on this blog since I am here on our new acreage and
retirement home and words are not coming forth as eloquently as I would like so just
know that all the house and garage items are delivered and in!

I do like the countryside here and the flooding around this area did
not affect our home or property.

hoping and praying our condo will sell in the next couple of months, but no control
over that too much.

Miss my Summer dog!

my friends have visited and welcomed me here and I have popped into
a couple of summer time yoga classes to get me loosened up.  I gained 7 pounds this past 5 weeks
so my blood sugar was very high but now I have got it under control once again.

next is the NEW sofa, end table, coffee table and kitchen/dining set to be delivered and
tommorrow is the.....
delivery day!
(house warming plant)

mosquitos are non-existent out on our high back deck so thankful for that.  The breeze and
the height of our deck must be enough to ward them off and also the thousands of dragonflies that are here.
(oops ..caught in one of many webs around our deck)

oh Namaste! relieved that the difficulty of the move is 90% done just need the
perimeter fencing done to bring our equine friends here. I do miss them so if you have a horse or dog give them a rub down or a treat for me.

retirement could be

(Mantracker aka my hubby walking on the beach at Qualicum BC July 2013)

one of my favourite pics I just came across
this morning while deleting and saving older photos

I am planning on walking on a sandy beach
in a couple of weeks and relaxing!

So......

Let's say ......that we are traveling to the big beautiful province in June
Checking out property listings and take a holiday .    I am talking about the "bring cash" (BC) country!

This journey of retirement planning and new acreage plans has to be an adventure and fun.  SO now hopping over to warmer winter areas.

These are the selfish years ahead when family is just as important but cold cold climate becomes intolerable.

Changing

SUMMER 13 years old May 2014

like a rubber band

we are finishing the move changes this past weekend
Tom is in his first home now. His own place with a huge responsibility but also
an exciting time too.  I remember our first house.  Lots of room for stuff.
We moved our beds and sofa and dressers that were Tom's to SC.

We now are going to our storage in Yorkton to bring back our beds and furniture to replenish the condo.  I feel like a rubber band. Going out and coming back in only to go out and come back in.  I am at the point where "We are elastic and can stretch ourselves, but only so much"!

The search for a retirement home is teetering between BC and more so to stay in Saskatchewan.  However the homes on acreages are not up to a standard that we would want to pay the high prices that are placed on them.

Interesting read and it states that introverts can learn to be extroverted but only so much and Brian and I are more on the introverted personality.  All these changes is expensive and exhaustive.

The good in all this is that we are healthy and have great friends and feeling stretched is okay for awhile and we are handling it.

the point of this post is:  All is good and life is good and full.  These are the best days when family and marriage is busy and active.

(photo courtesy Catherine Sykes visit) spring 2013

this week stuff

acreage/house hunting and realtor sales
pitches are 'swear' around here right now
we are disappointed and depressed
with this search
not talking much on that

 however...

I went to Calgary this past weekend
and had a little bit of shopping and alot of
pleasant visits with long time girlfriends
super relaxing and fun

reading a good well constructed
book called The Book Thief
I am halfway through it now and the movie
has been out this past year about
the Nazi Germany days and a lovely
young girl and her lust for
books and reading...

the benefits of 2 different yoga
classes last week are appreciated this week
(if you know what I mean?  no sciatic or stiffness)

learning to Dress My Truth this week
and this is fun and all about Beauty energy profiling
the videos are free - clic here and sign up

I am a "fire" Type 3 - I am shopping faster and more
for my type and it is crazy how great I am feeling about this

here is my deep teal green sweater and pants that
 I wore this weekend

there are 4 beauty types
type 1 is "air"
type 2 is "water"
type 3 is "fire"
type 4 is "earth"
which one are you?

so not much new these days
and Easter this weekend with family
hope my son comes up for the festivities
on with spring!

moving ramblings..

this is a difficult month coming up
Tom's move into his new home
our old furniture in condo is going out
to him in SC
Our house and acreage furnishings are stored in
Yorkton
we are still searching for our retirement home
it costs $80/hour for the moving storage company
to pull out what we need for Tom and what we need to refurnish
our condo (just our bed and sofa)

I am keeping this process simple in my head but no matter what
I have going on in my head it still seems complicated!

book move day with Condo manager
(can't move in our out on weekends...hrrmmph!)
book storage manager in Yorkton to
unload items we need (can't do this on weekends either)

I am excited for Tom and I know he will love his
place and get some renters in which he is getting in place for May 1st.

Things do always work out the way they should
and I will keep my head in organized slots until this takes place

now for some phone calls
need some manpower too....

{a home i took a photo of in Lexington KY as most
homes were that solid brick foundation, they were beautiful!}

home sweet home!

ramblings

an acreage just came up on the MLS listings close to Yorkton
planning our viewings for next weekend with the realtor
this is the listing we want to see ASAP
(40 acres and only 9 miles from the city and house looks good!!)
there are several others but we will know right away if it is
a wasted trip

where is March?
with this cold weather have not seen Summer in 10 days
i am attempting painting horse heads now
we are very ready for a place where we can be with
our animals - right Mantracker?

missing Sal - apparently he is living up in the loft
of the barn now as 2 other cats came with the new owners
so he is on the HQ floor - ha!

Life is for deep kisses
strange adventures
midnight swims and
rambling conversations
(off a bottle of red wine)

off to yoga again tommorrow
then wait for the arctic weather to move on!

transition shift

this sun today is bringing anxiousness and excitement
to start making the acreage listings a little longer
and hoping that there is one out there for us

i however, do not want to live anymore than 15 minutes out of
the city
Brian just wants a place to train some colts and a place to
saddle up and ride
so the loss of a beautiful acreage and moving
in transit  is unsettling at times because how long
will we be in transit?  I unfortunately do not have a "vision" of the home I
want to live in,  it needs to be only 1100 to 1200 square foot and
preferably stucco and a really nice bathroom with large tub
and double sinks and a heated floor......
so I suppose I have a vision of some things
didnt' realize until I started typing this post
the thoughts are getting closer to narrowing down our

plan of action, still a ways to go.....Midway, BC is being looked at as well because of an
acreage available

could be Yorkton, or BC....

Tom has purchased a home at Jenmar, nice mobile home
he moves in the spring.  He says "now you guys need to find your little paradise"!

week 3

the cold has let up today, but it is very windy but only minus 7 this morning.  I went for a walk on the University Park walkway behind the Aboriginal University and then I trekked back and I felt good to have finally gotten a nice long walk in to start the week.  We are getting our moving storage company to pull out a couple of important boxes like all our income tax papers and Tom's personal ID and spare hearing aids..etc.  It is costing us $115 to pull this out but we need these boxes.

oops...here is Summer's paw print (sideways)

I am now registered for a restorative Yoga class for one month, the neck and shoulders are having a difficult time relaxing and settling into this new lifestyle so this class is called RELAX AND RENEW.....and is one and a half hours.  For people with injuries or pain, etc...... Bodhi Tree Yoga
I am sure it won't hurt me to take a few of these classes
kinda stopped doing yoga for many years do to the over stretching I can get myself
into trouble doing that so this class sounds safe.

it is a good thing that there are so many options now to keep a body and mind
fit for this life that eventually takes a toll on muscles and other ailments.

have a crazy Christmas week as it should be!

spots of warmth and shine

wonderful warmth and reflections and shine this week
I needed it

watery shine!

a shot of Christmas starting...

homemade lunch with my friend - thanks Gladys!

a wonderful host and a place for our family to stay after the loading of our household onto the trucks is
the best gift given to me this week!!

new website

This blog will stay as an archive. I am posting over here now: The Flash Speaks See you in the new place!
